This summer Mike & Shirley
Levon went way down south to Taunton in Devon to see 'Norfolk' Jim
and 'Super Judy', aka Richard and Judy Smith. It was great seeing
them again, reminiscing about old times in Cass Yard, (Jim stayed
there for a while), and Judy's Devon cream tea was a real holiday
bonus!

SUPER
JUDY & TOP CAT
Mike's first real attempt to write a song which wasn't Dylan-esque,
"Super Judy" was in part based on Judy Smith, then called
Judy Pitt-Plaidy. At one point in 1968, Richard was lined up to
sing a Chris Coombs song, "Top Cat". This never
came about, though a rough demo mix of Chris singing it will eventually
appear on one of the remaining three "Holyground the Works"
re-issues.
