NEW ALBUM ::: "IN AND OUT OF TIME"
PROGRESS REPORT
Chris Coombs has been adding vocals and percussion, including the family egg-slicer which didn't survive the second take of the last chorus on "OH NO NO NO"! Mike Levon is editing and gradually catching up - a few tracks are now in the initial mix stage.

The album is by Chris Coombs, Mike Levon, and Pete Taylor, although Alex Wilson is pretty much a band member too, playing drums for most of the album. He is pictured above working on Chris's song "The Note" last summer. Other drummers include Mike Levon, Nick Dew and Bernie Wild shown below adding a jazzy touch to "February". Alex is the son of Dave Wilson (of LAZY DAYS & BIFFO fame), seen here adding some lovely lead guitar to one track.

Nothing Rhymes (variation)
still a lot to do on this instrumental
untitled track
Mike, Chris and Pete will be working on this in a month or so . . .

Lovely bass solos by Pete Taylor and Liam Arthurs (now in Canada). Dave Nuttall's folk trio is earmarked for this, plus Northumbrian pipes, Ric Jerrom sharing vocals with Chris, and lead guitar . . . this one has most work still to do
Back to Home (variation)
still work to do on this, but will include backwards cymbals . . .
The Note
this track will feature 6 (not 4 as we said last newsletter) lead instrumentalists, and a host of percussion players, including Bryan Holden from Global Village, Ian Moran, Mike, and others.
Lash!
Chris added oooh and ahhs vocals last week
untitled track
Pete & Mike are writing this. Pete's original version is probably titled, like most of his songs, "Newsong 1"!
The Same Land ( to be re-titled)
Now with Pete Howells guitar on, and waiting for Andy Wells of Pilgrym, Rob Taylor of Nathaniel Green, and Nick Coombs of most orchestras and groups, but especially the Amigo Trumpet Trio. A long track - which segues into . . .
Best Foot Shoes
Pete and Mike's song of hope eternal. Almost anyone who drops in contributes to part of this song which features a cast of thousands
Sartre
Pete's song of angst - nearly done . . . some nice guitars. Needs the clog dance solo yet!

QYL

This band led by John Milner, recorded in 1975 - towards the end of Holyground's first age. Prog and rock mixed, their sessions turn up in their entirety on Loose Routes volume two. John has now been in touch and sent us this picture of the band from that period.

They appeared at the Fforde Greene in Leeds as did local bands Gygafo, Sneakers (featuring the drummer from "Tears On The Console") and others. In the words of Andy Wells recently, "It was a real music pub - it had a sticky floor!"

Loose Routes is available from the Holyground website or Amazon.
